October 22, 2024, Johor Bahru – myBAS Johor Bahru has launched a registration counter at AEON Bukit Indah for the myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 programs. This initiative, organized by the Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) under the Ministry of Transport, aims to make public transportation more accessible and affordable for the community.
The myBASKonsesi and myBAS50 initiatives were introduced by the Ministry of Transport through APAD to provide unlimited rides on all myBAS Johor Bahru services. This initiatives aimed to reduced-cost public transportation enables greater mobility for the community, especially for specific groups who benefit from cost savings on travel within Johor Bahru.
The myBASKonsesi program allows free, unlimited rides for eligible groups including persons with disabilities (OKU), senior citizens aged 60 and above, and students aged 7 to 17. This program offers significant savings for these groups, providing them with easy and affordable access to essential destinations, such as JB Sentral, schools, shopping malls, and popular attractions within the city of Johor.
For working adults, myBAS50 offers an affordable monthly pass, allowing unlimited rides for 30 days across all myBAS Johor Bahru routes. Both programs are exclusively available to Malaysian citizens, encouraging greater use of public transportation in Johor Bahru.
According to Sonny Cosme, the lead of advertising and promotions for myBAS Johor Bahru, the registration counter at AEON Bukit Indah has seen increased sign-ups, with more shoppers showing interest due to convenient bus routes connecting the mall. “We’re excited to see the growing response from mall visitors. Many are taking the opportunity to learn about the programs and benefits offered by myBAS Johor Bahru services.”
Event coordinator Anuar Siraj, the over-all event coordination for this promotion, shared his enthusiasm for the outreach effort: “We’ve had many visitors to our booth, including families and students. The booth’s coloring activities for children have also drawn a great response, making the experience engaging and informative for the whole family.”
With this pop counter for registration at AEON Bukit Indah, myBAS Johor Bahru aims to reach diverse community groups and further enhance public awareness of the benefits of myBASKonsesi and myBAS50, ultimately promoting greater accessibility and convenience in public transport across Johor Bahru.
