JOHOR BAHRU, 21 September 2025 — In preparation for the new BAS.MY Johor Bahru routes between AEON Dato Onn and JB Sentral, Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd. (HISB), the network operator of BAS.MY Johor Bahru, organized an outreach engagement booth at AEON Dato’ Onn to raise awareness about the project’s benefits and encourage bus ridership among the public.

The event gathered over 200 Malaysian students with their parents and guardians, providing a meaningful platform for HISB to introduce the unlimited free ride initiative under the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) program, spearheaded by the Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD) under the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT).

During the event, Handal Indah team set up a registration booth for interested individuals—especially students—to sign up for BAS.MY Kad Konsesi and Kad 30 Hari. These cards provide access to affordable and convenient public transportation across Johor Bahru, helping improve connectivity to various destinations within the city.

To give participants a first-hand experience, a bus ride demonstration was conducted using the newly rebranded BAS.MY Johor Bahru buses. The students were given the opportunity to experience it emphasizing the convenience and cost-efficiency of using public transport instead of private vehicles. This initiative encourages the community to opt for public transportation, reducing road congestion and promoting environmentally friendly mobility.

As the network operator of BAS.MY Johor Bahru, Handal Indah remains committed to expanding its community outreach programs to increase awareness of the benefits of bus ridership. Through initiatives like the Kad Konsesi and Kad 30 Hari, HISB aims to promote sustainable urban mobility and support the government’s vision of enhancing Malaysia’s public transport landscape.
