Johor Bahru, Malaysia – Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (HISB), the operator of Causeway Link, successfully hosted another impactful edition of the Bringing Smile to Life campaign in collaboration with Kids Bonding Johor. The event, held at the Handal Indah Headquarters in Johor Bahru, aimed to educate young children about the importance of public transportation through fun, interactive, and experience-based learning activities.

The campaign brought together parents and children for a programme focused on safety awareness, transport education, and community engagement. Led by the dedicated HISB team, the participants were given the opportunity to explore various aspects of public transport operations in an enjoyable and hands-on environment.

Highlights of the Event:

Bus Introduction & Exploration
Children were introduced to different types of buses operated by Causeway Link—including city buses, high-deck and double-decker buses, as well as cross-border buses serving Johor Bahru–Singapore routes. This exposure helped them understand the wide range of mobility options available within the community.

Electric Bus Ride Experience
Participants enjoyed a special ride onboard Causeway Link’s electric bus, where they learned how eco-friendly buses are charged, maintained, and prepared for public service. This activity promoted sustainability awareness among young learners.

Safety Awareness Activities
The HISB team conducted practical safety sessions that included helmet familiarisation, bus safety reminders, and demonstrations of cashless payment systems used onboard Causeway Link buses.

Creative Colouring Session
Children participated in a colouring activity designed to inspire creativity and reinforce their learning. The top three artworks were selected and recognised by the organising committee.

Cashless Payment Exposure

Children together with their parents had the chance on how cashless payment is being conducted inside a bus by showcasing them a demo and understand how a credit is being deducted from their cashless card such as ManjaLink Card including VISA and Mastercard.

The event received warm support from Old Changkee Johor, whose team thru the presence of Mr MX Hing, Director of Old Chang Kee Malaysia, expressed that programmes like this help strengthen community ties while educating children at an early age about the value of public transportation. Old Changkee Johor also generously provided their signature Curry Puffs to all participants, adding joy and smiles to the day’s activities.
