Melaka, 19 May 2026: Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (“Handal Indah”) organised an experiential learning programme for special education students from SK Kampung Tun Razak, aimed at introducing them to public transportation through BAS.MY Melaka, which is operated by Handal indah. The programme took place on 19 May 2026 and included a guided journey from the school to Melaka Sentral.

The initiative brought together a group of 17 special needs students, who were accompanied and supported by seven teachers. Designed to foster independence and build confidence, the session served as a practical walkthrough on how to navigate the local public transit system safely and efficiently. For many of these students, this journey marked their very first time boarding and experiencing a BAS.MY Melaka bus, making the journey both meaningful and engaging.

Throughout the journey, the BAS.MY Melaka team guided students and teachers step by step, demonstrating how to board safely, navigate routes, and understand basic travel processes. The session also highlighted key accessibility features and how public transport systems are designed to accommodate a wide range of users, including persons with disabilities.

The teachers expressed their appreciation for the programme, noting that such out-of-classroom experiences are incredibly valuable for special education students. They shared that hands-on exposure helps students better understand how to use community services while gradually building confidence and independence in their daily lives. The school also welcomed opportunities for future collaboration to continue supporting student development in this area.
