Johor Students Receives Free 5000 ‘KAD MUAFAKAR JOHOR’ From Causeway Link

Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (HISB) or Causeway Link: The Smiling Bus had organised a Corporate Social Responsibility programme called “Jom Naik Bas” on the 27th August 2017 at SMK Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, Johor.

Perbadanan Pengangkutan Awam Johor (PAJ) Chief Executive Officer Tuan Haji Rahman Bin Salleh officiated the said event. Other guests included; Puan Salina Binti Hussain from Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Johor (JPN) (Ketua Sektor Pengurusan Akademik); Puan Amshida Binti Ahmad Rani, Southern Regional Head (Ketua Wilayah Selatan) from Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (S.P.A.D); Puan Kamisah Binti Modh Ghazali, (Naib Presiden Kanan) from Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA); Tuan Haji Rozlan Bin Abu Bakar, Executive Director of HISB, Mr Lim Han Weng, CEO and Chairman of HISB, Madam Bah Kim Lian, Director of Handal Indah Group of Companies (HIGC), Miss Lim Chern Fang, Director of Operations and Marketing of HIGC and some of the sponsors for the event together with Principals and Teachers from Schools.

Free Bus Services for the Students
According to Puan Salina Binti Hussain, this was the first time that an event like this was conducted by a Transport Company to benefit the welfare of the students in terms of transportation from their Housing Estates to their schools.

She also added: “this is an initiative that I felt was done for the first time, and I hope to be followed by other companies to help our students”.

Meaningful to the People of Johor
Tuan Haji Rahman Bin Salleh also shared his thought to the Organising Committee: “Well done and congratulations to the Organizing Committee for successfully organizing this kind of program. The program is very meaningful to the people of Johor, especially in the situation whereby the cost of living is rising”.

Join together to support “Bas Muafakat Johor” Tuan Haji Rozlan also shared his thought: “Let us both join together and support the ‘Muafakat Bas Johor’ to be known as a public transport medium in Malaysia.

“Jom Naik Bas” Project

“Jom Naik Bas” is a programme called “Project 555” which provides 5,000 pieces of ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ to selected 5,000 needy students with a ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ valued at RM5 each. This is part of the initiative provided by the team of HISB to promote free public transportation system through the ‘Bas Muafakat Johor’ as initiated by the State Government of Johor.

The beneficiaries of this project cover a total of 141 selected Primary and Secondary Schools within the different districts of Johor covering the routes of ‘Bas Muafakat Johor’ operated by different Transport Companies in Johor.

HISB being one of the operators of ‘Bas Muafakat Johor’ believed that this initiative would help to increase the awareness of the Community about the free transport facility provided by the State Government of Johor for all Malaysians staying in Johor.

In order for every Malaysian to enjoy this free bus services, they must purchase the ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ valued at RM10 for adults (age range from 18-59 years old) except for Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU), RM5 for senior citizens, students (7-17 years old) and PWD (Person With Disabilities), and Free for children (below 6 years old).

As of 15 August 2017, PAJ had authorised 14 ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ Counters within Iskandar Malaysia and 7 authorised ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ Counters outside Iskandar Malaysia to assist the needs of the general public for the purchases of ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’.

The operation of ‘Bas Muafakat Johor’ has a total of 47 routes comprised of 27 rou¬tes within the Iskandar Region and 20 routes outside the Iskandar Region.

HISB participating sponsors who helped in funding the purchases of 5,000 pieces of ‘Kad Muafakat Johor’ were also present at the Event.

Other highlights during the event included a Choir and welcoming dance performances by the students from SMK Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, Johor.
