BAS.MY Melaka Showcases Free Ride Initiative At Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat DUN Duyong Program
Melaka, 26 July 2024 – BAS.MY Melaka successfully participated in the closing ceremony of the Program Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) DUN Duyong, held at the Dewan Serbaguna Semabok Dalam, providing an opportunity to connect with the local community and promote its free ride initiative under the Kad Konsesi program.
The event, officiated by YAB Datuk Ab Rauf bin Yusoh, Chief Minister of Melaka, was attended by thousands of residents from DUN Duyong. Distinguished guests included YB Dato’ Azhar bin Hj. Arshad, State Secretary of Melaka; members of the Melaka State Executive Council; YB Datuk Hj. Mohd Noor Helmy bin Abdul Halem, ADUN Duyong; YBhg. Datuk Hj. Shadan bin Hj. Othman, Mayor of MBMB; Tn. Muhammad Firdaus bin Shariff, City Secretary of MBMB; council members; and various heads of departments and units from MBMB.
Earlier in the day, VIPs took part in the Sukan Rakyat activities, engaging with participants across all age groups. They also visited exhibition booths, including BAS.MY Melaka, to learn more about the services offered.
The Kad Konsesi initiative provides unlimited free bus rides for students below 17 years old, university students with valid SISWA cards, people with disabilities and senior citizens. During the event, the BAS.MY Melaka team actively engaged with attendees, sharing information on eligibility, benefits, and application procedures.
BAS.MY Melaka’s booth also showcased its service branding, route information, and promotional materials, highlighting the affordability and convenience of public transportation. Visitors were encouraged to consider using buses as a sustainable travel option that can help reduce traffic congestion, particularly in Melaka’s heritage areas.
Participation in “Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat” DUN Duyong Program reflects BAS.MY Melaka’s mission to provide accessible, reliable, and environmentally friendly transport solutions, supporting the state’s goals of easing urban traffic and preserving the unique charm of Melaka’s historical landmarks.
