BAS.MY Melaka Celebrates First Anniversary with the Promotion of SISWA Card for University Students
Melaka, Malaysia – May 19, 2025 – BAS.MY Melaka marks its first anniversary as a key public transportation service provider in Melaka, now operating 18 routes across the state with a fleet of 55 buses, including low-floor mini buses and electric buses.
This milestone celebrates a year of progress in enhancing local mobility and sustainability while unveiling a major new initiative: the SISWA Card, which offers free rides for students with active registration from selected universities in Malaysia.
The anniversary event, organized by Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (HISB), the Network Operator (NO) of BAS.MY Melaka, highlighted the first promotion of the SISWA Card. This initiative is an extension of the existing Kad Konsesi program, designed to provide free and seamless travel for targeted student groups across Malaysia.
Adding vibrancy to the celebration, an art competition engaged Melaka residents in expressing their perspectives on the evolving transport system. Many artworks proudly depicted the now-iconic pink buses that represent the BAS.MY Melaka brand.
Free health screening were also in included in partnership with Klinik Keluarga One Medic (Cawangan Gangsa) for all the participants including the general public visiting the event.
Formerly known white-colored buses, BAS.MY Melaka underwent a rebranding and was officially launched in October 2024 by Transport Minister YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook and Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Today, BAS.MY Melaka serves as the primary public transport operator in the state, covering both urban and rural areas. Among its most notable services is the M100 route, which connects passengers directly to Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, benefitting both residents and tourists.
For students and eligible passengers, Kad Konsesi registration including for the SISWA Card is available via a dedicated counter at Melaka Sentral or through the LUGO App, BAS.MY Melaka’s official travel platform. While the registration and subscription for BAS.MY Kad Konsesis is free using their Malaysian IC. Passengers can also opt for a physical Kad Konsesi at a nominal fee of RM10.
