BAS.MY Johor Bahru Strengthens Community Engagement Through ILKKM Outreach Programme

Johor Bahru, 19 January 2026 – BAS.MY Johor Bahru, operated by Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, organised an outreach and registration programme at Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (ILKKM), reinforcing its commitment to enhancing accessibility and promoting the use of public transport within the community.

  • The half-day programme, held from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, brought the following services directly to students, educators, and the wider community at ILKKM:Registration for Kad Konsesi BAS.MY Johor Bahru
  • Sign-ups for Kad 30 Hari
  • Information sharing on routes, schedules, and fare benefits

 

The outreach programme focused on increasing access and transport literacy among key beneficiary groups, including students, persons with disabilities (OKU), senior citizens, and community leaders. The community was educated on the available BAS.MY routes, bus schedules, and the benefits of concession and unlimited travel passes.

The event received strong participation – particularly from students, many of whom highlighted the usefulness of free travel enabled by the Kad Konsesi. Peer to peer encouragement played a notable role, with students actively inviting others to register and explore BAS.MY services for daily commuting. Lecturers also supported the effort by promoting the programme and facilitating student participation. In addition, the Causeway Link Express team enhanced engagement through a survey-based incentive, where participants could receive exclusive tokens of appreciation by providing insights on user origins. This initiative encouraged interaction while rewarding early participants with limited-edition items.

By bringing mobility services directly to ILKKM, BAS.MY Johor Bahru reduced barriers to registration, broadened access, and strengthened awareness of reliable, affordable public transport options. The outreach deepened understanding of the BAS.MY network that supports daily movement across Johor Bahru, and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd will continue expanding community-based initiatives to ensure more residents can easily access inclusive mobility services.
