BAS.MY Johor Bahru Opens Kad Konsesi Registration At SMK Tun Fatimah Hashim
Johor Bahru, 12 July 2025: In line with its ongoing mission to promote sustainable and affordable public transport options, BAS.MY Johor Bahru held a successful Kad Konsesi registration campaign at SMK Tun Fatimah Hashim during the school’s Co-Curriculum Day celebration.
A dedicated booth was set up on campus, giving students the opportunity to register on the spot for the Kad Konsesi, an initiative offered by the federal government that offers unlimited free rides across all BAS.MY Johor Bahru. This on-ground initiative reflects BAS.MY’s commitment to making public transportation more accessible and student-friendly, especially for youths (aged below 17 years old) who depend on daily commutes to school and co-curricular activities.
The response from the student body was very supportive including their parents. Many were keen to learn about the advantages of the Kad Konsesi, which not only eases transportation costs for families but also promotes green commuting practices by reducing dependency on private vehicles. The initiative aligns with the government broader goals of encouraging low-carbon lifestyles and improving public transportation uptake among the youth.
In addition to cost savings, the card provides students with greater independence and mobility, helping them to engage more actively in academic and extracurricular pursuits without worrying about transportation.
BAS.MY Johor Bahru team also extends its heartfelt thanks to the administration, teachers, and students of SMK Tun Fatimah Hashim for their warm welcome and collaboration during the event. The company is eager to replicate this success in other schools across Johor, working hand-in-hand with educational institutions to create a more connected and sustainable future.
This school engagement is part of a wider campaign under the BAS.MY Konsesi initiative, which seeks to provide unlimited free bus access to eligible users, including students, person with disabilities, SISWA Card holder (University students) and senior citizens.
Through partnerships like these, BAS.MY hopes to nurture a culture of public transport awareness, responsibility, and inclusivity from a young age.
