Melaka, 13 June 2026 – “Handal Indah”, the network operator for BAS.MY Melaka, celebrated the 2^nd anniversary of BAS.MY Melaka through a large-scale community programme at the Domestic Bus Waiting Area, Melaka Sentral.

The highlight of the celebration was the Drawing and Colouring Competition, which attracted approximately 110 participants comprising primary school students, secondary school students, higher education institution (IPT) students, and members of the general public.

Held under the theme “A Greener Future with BAS.MY Melaka”, the competition encouraged participants to showcase their creativity and imagination by illustrating a more sustainable future using public transportation and environmentally friendly mobility solutions. The competition served as a platform to inspire greater awareness of sustainable transportation while nurturing artistic talent among participants of all ages.

Attendees and participants were treated to an array of attractive merchandise and prizes. The competition’s grand prize featured a RM1,000 cash reward for Category C (Open/Public Category). As a special token of appreciation, participants were also able to take home exclusive, complimentary BAS.MY Melaka bus replicas.

The event also received an encouraging response from the public, with more than 200 visitors attending throughout the day. Beyond the art competition, BAS.MY Melaka collaborated with several strategic partners to offer a range of activities and services for visitors.

Among the participating partners were:

• Klinik Keluarga Medik Gangsa, which provided free health screening services for visitors aged 40 years and above.
• Kolej Antarabangsa Yayasan Melaka (KAYM), which showcased higher education opportunities and academic programmes.
• TwoDay Sip Coffee, which served beverages and light refreshments to visitors.
• KS Bundle, which participated as a vendor offering bundle and thrift items.

The second-anniversary celebration additionally served as a vital public outreach platform to promote BAS.MY Melaka’s socio-economic initiatives. Visitors utilized the opportunity to register for the BAS.MY Concession Card, enabling eligible commuter demographics to access unlimited, fare-free travel across the entirety of the BAS.MY Melaka transit network.

The successful organisation of the event marked another significant milestone for BAS.MY Melaka as it celebrates two years of serving the people of Melaka while continuing to support the development of a sustainable, accessible, and environmentally friendly public transportation system.
